After the past few rollercoaster years… I think it’s safe to say we could all use a little vibe + energy boost. Today I’m sharing some daily practices, routines, and habits that can help raise your vibration and protect your energy.
“Everything in life is a vibration.” – Albert Einstein
If you’ve heard of the Law of Attraction, you know that everything you put out into the world, is returned back to you within the same vibrational energy. Put out low vibes, and you’ll only attract more low vibes and negativity. Put out high vibes, and positive high vibes will flow to you like magic. This is why it’s so important to keep your vibrations high and truly feel deep within that good things are constantly on the horizon for you.
The bad news is: this is one of those instances where you can’t really fake it till you make it.
In order to receive abundance and attract high vibe experiences, opportunities, and relationships, you need to authentically be in alignment with high vibrational feelings and emotions.
The following list of practices will help raise your current vibration and set you right on the path of least resistance to all the amazing and wonderful things that are already in your “vortex.”
I don’t exactly practice ALL of these myself on a daily, but know that each one has a powerful strength that only increases when combined with others from this list.
Meditation
Don’t knock it till you try it. It took me a minute to warm up to this but guided meditations on YouTube really helped me get into this habit. I find it helps to make a playlist and start by doing shorter sessions. Then work your way up to longer meditations, and try a few days out of the week without a guided version so you can really tap into your subconscious mind. The key is to know there is no “right” and “wrong” way to meditate. The way that comes naturally to you, is already perfect for you.
Journaling
This is a MUST for me lately. Journaling helps grab all the jumbled-up thoughts, feelings, and emotions from inside your head and lay them out on paper, which seems to solidify them. You can go about journaling in so many different ways: keep a list of things you’re grateful for, use it in diary form, write down things you want to manifest as if they have already happened, or simply use it as a catchall/brain dump whenever you start to feel a bit overwhelmed. Sometimes, the simple act of writing things down feels like a relief. You can use a physical notebook, or try digital journaling – whatever works best for you!
Gratitude
This one ties into journaling, as I find the best way to practice consistent feelings of gratitude is to write down lists. You can add this to your journaling routine and start your day with 5 things you feel truly grateful for. Then end the day by writing down 5 new things at night. Gratitude is important because it shifts your mind to focus on all the good you already have in your life, which puts you in a high-vibe state and thus allows you to attract more high-vibe things.
Healing Crystals
I know this is a bit woo-woo (although this entire post is woo-woo) for some. But whether you believe in the power of healing crystals or not, I think it’s worth a minute of your time. Just like everything else in life, crystals are said to hold energy. Each crystal variation, with its density, color, shape, etc., is said to help heal or aid in different areas of your life. For example, rose quartz is known to attract love and relationships. Pyrite is known to attract money, wealth, and material abundance. And on and on.
If you’re a newbie to crystals, I recommend starting off with a gorgeous clear quartz. Clear quartz is known as the “universal” crystal. It has master healing properties that cleanse the soul and enhance spirituality in general. I think it’s important that you feel drawn to a crystal before taking it home. Sometimes it’s not about whether you believe in the actual healing properties, but more so the connection you form with each crystal and what feelings you assign to each.
Tarot Cards
I’m still new to this world, but I think learning the basics of tarot cards can help deepen your connection to your subconscious mind. Tarot has been around for so long and often has negative biases. However, there is nothing evil or harmful about tarot. From what I’ve learned so far, tarot is a way to connect to your higher self, the divine, source energy, a higher power… truly whatever you believe in. Drawing cards and combining them into specific spreads, or simply drawing a few cards in sequence, can help reveal certain aspects of our lives that we may be turning a blind eye to, or perhaps not tuned into. The cards can help us see what our true desires are, help guide us toward following a certain path, or simply reassure us that we are exactly where we are meant to be at any given moment. I personally love this tarot card deck, but be sure to select a deck that you feel called or drawn towards on a deeper level.
Affirmations
This is another one that can easily tie back into journaling. Writing down a list of positive affirmations every single day will get you into a high-vibe mindset. Similar to feeling gratitude, it forces you to focus on the good. Affirmations can be slightly “faked” until they feel real. However, make sure that when you say them out loud or write them down on paper, you tap into the actual feeling of emotion you’d have if the affirmation were to be true.
For example, if your affirmation is “I am becoming more confident every day” then maybe you’d want to envision yourself feeling confident, strong, and happy while successfully leading a team meeting at work. The feeling and intense emotion attached to this vision will become impossible for your brain to ignore. And the added bonus: your brain doesn’t know the difference between a real feeling and a fake one. So these faux feelings of confidence, when practiced daily, will convince your brain that you are in fact the most confident and high-vibe version of yourself over time. And just like that, what began as an affirmation has now become your reality.
Moon Cycle Rituals
This one is so dynamic that it really deserves its own post. For now, I’ll redirect you to one of my favorite blog posts from the gorgeous girls over at Blonde2Brunette – where they go in-depth about all things moon magic, crystals, and spirituality. Just know you’re about to learn a whole lot about moon cycles and what areas of life you should be focusing on to set the right intentions and get the most out of your spiritual practices.
Social Boundaries
While this post is mostly focused on raising your vibration, sometimes it’s equally as important to protect your energy. Social boundaries mean knowing when you’ve soaked up too much negative energy from those around you. Maybe you need to say no to a few people or cancel some plans to make sure you are keeping your own energy at peace. This is especially important if you consider yourself to be an empath. As empaths, we (often unknowingly) absorb the energetic frequencies of those around us. These frequencies can be good or bad.
If you ever feel completely drained after spending time with a certain person or at a certain place (environments can also be energetically draining), make it a priority to set a boundary and know that it shouldn’t come with guilt or shame. Instead, look at it as a way of ensuring you are protecting your own vibe so that, in turn, you can be the best version of yourself for others.
Herbal Teas
A tea a day keeps the stress away. I just made that up but it’s actually been working for me lately. I make it a point to have at least one herbal tea per day, usually at night right before brushing my teeth. Herbal teas and their healing properties have been used throughout history. It seems there’s an herbal tea for any area of your life. Suffer from migraines: peppermint tea. Having insomnia: chamomile tea. Dealing with indigestion: ginger tea.
Personally, the act of drinking tea is also ritualistic in and of itself. I like to wind down with a cup of hot tea at the end of the day and take the time to write in my journal or even sip it as I put on a facemask or paint my nails. It’s something that makes me happy, which in turn raises my vibe. Plus the health benefits?! Win, win, win.
Time In Nature
As I write this out I realize this one I’ve been slacking on lately. Being outside and spending at least 20-30 minutes in nature (even if it’s your own balcony or backyard) helps boost your mood and vibe tremendously. Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to depression and anxiety, so getting outside to catch some rays may be more beneficial to your mind and body than you might think. Sometimes we feel stuck in a rut or stuffy mid-day. If you can manage to step outside for some fresh air, this helps clear your mind and may even inspire some new ideas or creativity.
Binaural Beats
This is something I’ve recently discovered and feel like I’m very late to the party. Apparently listening to binaural beats while working, studying, or even minutes before falling asleep can have really positive effects on our mental health and subconscious mind. There are different frequencies that can help incite specific feelings or provide relief for certain areas of your current state. If you’re someone who is highly affected by sounds and music, look up different binaural beats on YouTube. You’ll be sure to find an array of videos that you can play in the background or while you fall asleep that can help raise your vibe.
Sage + Palo Santo
Sage and palo santo have a long and rich history linked to cleansing environments of negative energy. The two are always staples in my home. I like to burn sage whenever I’m uninspired or feel like there’s stagnant energy in my environment. Sometimes I sage certain rooms, other times the whole entire house. Palo santo, which is translated to “holy wood” is also used to smudge spaces and promote spiritual cleansing. It is often used before meditation as it helps with relaxation. The woodsy aroma can also ease feelings of anxiety and stress.
To burn sage and palo santo, light them and let them burn for 15-30 seconds, then blow out the flame and use the stream of smoke to smudge areas of the house. I like to hold the sage bundle or palo santo and walk around the areas that have the most traffic, like the front door, hallways, etc. This is very ritualistic and should promote that feel-good vibe afterward.
Breathwork
Breathwork can also tie back into meditation, as they often go hand in hand. However, I think it’s safe to say we can practice breathwork at any given point of the day. Whether it’s during your morning meditation, or between emails at 2 pm. Practicing breathwork helps you disconnect from the mind and focus on the present. This is known to ease anxiety and raise your overall vibration.
There are many different techniques, and each one has its own purpose. My favorite beginner-friendly technique is the 4-7-8 breath. You begin by fully exhaling and emptying your lungs, then inhale through your nose for 4 seconds, hold your breath for 7 seconds, and exhale through your mouth for 8 seconds. Repeat several times (at least 5-7 times) until you start to feel relaxed and more centered in the present moment. To maximize and enhance the breathwork practice, you can imagine a white light of positive healing energy as you inhale, imagine the swirling white light filling your body with abundance during the 7 seconds you hold your breath, and then imagine a cloud of negative stagnant energy being released and physically leaving your body as you exhale.
High-vibe Foods
Last but not least, here are the cliche words “we are what we eat.” I truly believe that the foods we eat have a huge impact on our mood and vibe, not to mention our physical health in general. When you eat nutrient-dense foods that come from the earth, aka salads, soups, or dishes made with whole ingredients, your body and mind will take on the high energetic frequencies of those foods. In turn, when you eat low-quality highly processed foods, your body will only absorb low-vibe energy and the cycle will perpetuate. And while I do think it’s unrealistic to say you’ll never eat a frozen burrito or fast food meal again, I think everything in moderation still allows for balance and general wellbeing. As long as you feel right overall, then you’re on the right path to attracting high-vibe abundance all around.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to energy healing, but I hope at least some parts of this post resonated with you. Give yourself permission to move through life in the way that feels the most authentic, and remember that small steps can make big waves toward raising your vibration.
Cheers to all things self-improvement, spirituality, and leveling up your lifestyle.
