It may be 2020 (ugh) but HALLOWEEN IS NOT CANCELLED.

You might have seen this post from a few years back where I decorated my tv console unit with some creepy “found objects” to create a little chic apothecary halloween decor.
As per usual, I like to keep holiday decor somewhat concentrated in one or two spaces of the home instead of completely decking out every square inch. I think it’s just easier on the eyes and keeps your home’s aesthetic on point throughout all seasons.
Anyhow, I decided to switch things up slightly and move the decor zone to another location in the home: our bar console.

Here are some of the details:
- Creepy poison bottles: I printed the labels from some different blogger freebies (check Pinterest, there’s always a ton!) and used Mod Podge to stick them onto empty wine and liquor bottles. Then filled the bottles with water and some food coloring.
- Golden pumpkins: are from Joann Fabrics. They were originally a craft paper brown color and I just used metallic gold spray paint, black acrylic paint, and gold glitter mixed with Mod Podge to decorate them.
- Wall decor bats: I made these using black poster boards from the Dollar Tree. Drew a general bat shape (doesn’t have to be perfect at all!) and then used it as a stencil to cut out all the others. I then doubled them up by taping the center of 2 bats together and then folding up the wings on the top bat. This gives them more of a 3d look.
Other decor pieces and where they are from:
- skeleton – Joann Fabrics
- fancy stone skull – Homegoods
- black flamingo – Goodwill
- black net runner/fabric – Dollar Tree
- mini black and white pumpkins – gifted from a friend, probably from Target
- rat, spiders, mini gold skull, and mini skeleton in coffin – Dollar Tree
Hope this gave you some ideas!! Happy Halloween!!
Xx Laura
