Today I’m inspired to share a few before & after photos of my home. As an interior decor lover, I always dreamed of the excitement that would come with getting to decorate my first home. And, although it’s never completely finished, I figured coming up on our 2 year house-aversary would be a good time to document the current state of our home. It’s crazy to see how much of a difference a bit of paint, updated kitchen appliances, some eclectic furniture, and other small touches can make in a space.
Our house is a single story, ranch style home, built in 1956. We have authentic terracotta tiles throughout the entire home, and wood panelling on the ceilings and walls of most of the common areas and master bedroom. Our kitchen has a peek-a-boo window that looks out into the great room (living/dining area). The 4th bedroom is converted into a den/office space – the home of my business, TWG Designs.
Because we knew we’d be keeping the flooring as is, we opted to balance out the darkness of the tiles by painting the walls and ceilings white to keep the house as bright and vibrant as possible. Other than paint, we changed out lighting fixtures and switches, kitchen appliances, and… that’s pretty much it!
In a future post, I’ll share more info about the rooms, bathrooms, and the backyard transformation. But for now, keep scrolling for some pretty drastic before & after shots of the main living areas and office den…
There are still quite a few projects to tackle, but this is our progress at the 2 year mark, and so far I’m happily settled into our little modern boho home. <3
