This week, Caro and I were both inspired to create fantastical & whimsy characters – UniQueen and Galactic. We both used neutral color palettes and focused on shading, highlighting, and of course the essential glitter/sparkle elements!

GALACTIC
GET THE LOOK:
- Start off with your regular base/face makeup and brow routine.
- For the gradient effect on the crescent moon, I cut out the shape from card stock paper and used double sided tape to stick it to my forehead. I also think a star shape would look really cool too! To make the look a little more interesting, I placed it so it would slightly “cut through” my eyebrows.
- Next take a fluffy eyeshadow blending brush and start shading the edges of the paper shape, being really careful not to get too much shadow under the edges.
- Keep adding colors to eventually fade out into a gradient towards your foundation shade. I went with a mix of purples, browns, and bronze tones… but this would also look great in the classic galaxy palette of black, purple, blue, and pink.
- For the “mask” part of the look under the eyes, you can either do the same card stock paper method to create a really crisp line, or free hand it, which is what I did. The key here is to blend blend blend till your fingers give out. 😉
- To create the stars, you can either use a white liquid liner, or white cream paint. Use a tiny brush tip (or even the back of a chopstick, toothpick, anything you have laying around!) to dot them on, varying clusters and sizes. Add a few cross marks here and there.
- I completed the look by styling my hair in space buns, added fun accessories and wore a sparkly fabric for to mimic a starry night sky.
