Trousers are IN. I mean, they’ve always been a closet staple, but this season they are having a major moment in the spotlight, specifically when worn in a more casual/streetwear vibe.
If you’re an avid thrifter (like me!) I highly recommend thrifting a few pairs and then tailoring them to better fit your body. In most cases, you may just need to hem the bottoms, or maybe take in a bit of extra fabric around the waistband. If I find a pair that has a larger waist but looks like the right overall fit, I make sure it has belt loops. Sometimes adding a belt is all you need for a “perfectly tailored” look without doing any extra work at all.

Today I’m sharing 3 casual and easy ways to style women’s trousers.
Outfit 1
This first pair is very high-waisted, so I went with a super cropped top with a mock neck and long sleeve, you know… for skin-display balance. lol
The belt adds a focal point at the waist and also breaks up the monochromatic look. Adding simple white sneakers keeps this whole outfit more low-key and effortless.

Outfit 2
I love the slightly cropped fit of this grey pair. Adding a sleek pointed toe sock bootie helps elongate the legs and lets the wider pant leg really have its moment. Clearly, I’m into the monochromatic look. Pairing with a super basic cropped tee and layered tank also keeps this outfit casual and easy. I added a larger crossbody bag for more visual interest and of course, tons of jewelry as per usual.

Outfit 3
This last look may seem a bit all over the place but that’s kind of what I love the most about it. Are we going to a meeting? Are we going to a concert? Who knows and who cares.
This olive green/khaki pair has a tapered leg so I went with a strappy heel. In my head, the graphic tee, furry purse, and heels are all in sync – creating a fun juxtaposition to the otherwise serious and boring trouser+blazer combo.
